Project description and scope

Soil and groundwater had been impacted by volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and petroleum hydrocarbons resulting from the former manufacturing activities at a former manufacturing plant in Guelph, ON, Canada.

Envirofix was retained to complete soil and groundwater remediation which had been attempted unsuccessfully by others. Envirofix, in cooperation with an environmental consultant, developed a remedial action plan which was suitable to the project site. 

Project deliverables

To ensure the successful completion of the project, EnviroFix implemented the following:

  • Evaluation of the environmental investigations and remedial activities conducted at the site in the past
  • Assistance to the consultant to accurately characterise the site
  • Re-development of a more feasible remedial action plan consisting of in-situ soil remediation and ex-situ groundwater pump and treat to expedite the remedial activity and bring the site into compliance with the current Ontario environmental standards and regulations
