PRINT SHOP PLANT SOIL AND WATER REMEDIATION

The site consisted of an industrial building which was formerly used as a print shop, a warehouse and offices located in Toronto, ON, Canada. Two plumes of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) existed in the groundwater at the site. One plume was migrating into the property believed to be from an offsite source. The second plume was believed to be the result of past operations at the site. Prior to Envirofix's involvement, attempts had been unsuccessfully made by others to remediate the VOC plumes in the groundwater at the site.

Project description and scope

Envirofix was retained to remediate the site.  Envirofix worked closely with the client’s consultant and developed and implemented a remedial action plan (RAP).

Project deliverables

To complete the project, EnviroFix ensured the application of combined remedial techniques including in-situ chemical oxidation, pump and treat and soil vapour extraction using Envirofix mobile remediation systems. A hydraulic barrier was designed and implemented to prevent offsite migration.
