GROUNDWATER REMEDIATION SYSTEM UPGRADE FOR VOCS

Project description and scope

EnviroFix was retained to upgrade and enhance an existing remediation system to expedite groundwater remediation beneath a former manufacturing plant in Burlington, ON, Canada. The groundwater at the site was impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCS) and floating oily product resulted from the former operation of the facility.  The contamination was known to have migrated offsite.  An intercepting trench was installed to control the plume and prevent further offsite migration.

Project deliverables

To ensure the successful completion of this project, EnviroFix carried out the following tasks: 

• Reviewed the presence and extent of VOC and trichloro ethylene and floating oil in the groundwater at the site
• Conducted remedial option evaluation and provided alternative remedial measures
• Upgraded and provided continuous operation and maintenance of the groundwater pump and treat system
